We have loved science week! We have completed 5 science experiments looking at whether we can layer liquids, change the shape of jelly sweets, time how long it takes for a drop of rain to get through a cloud and exploded plastic bags using vinegar and bi carbonate of soda!!
In the afternoons we have been looking at seasonal changes and focused on what colours are around during autumn, spring, summer and winter. We have recorded our findings in our sketch books using mixed media and loved it!
We are having lots of fun this week being scientists. It all started at the beginning of the week with a fantastic science show by Wonderstruck with a member of D4 setting Peter’s hair of fire. What a sight it was!
Watch this space for some more pictures of our science week with the theme of changes.
We loved our story last term ‘The Princess and the White Bear King’ so much, we have chosen to learn all about Castles this term. Next week we are off to Tiverton Castle on our learning journey, dressing up as Princesses and Knights.
In Art this term, we are focusing on a painting by Paul Klee called ‘Castle and Sun’. We are focusing colour this term, looking closely at mixing colours and representing emotions using colours. Keep an eye on our blog for our up-coming painting.

We have enjoyed being designers this term, focusing on healthy eating. We have evaluated a variety of fruit salads, tasted a range of fruit, designed and created a fruit salad with the purpose of providing the Princess in our story a healthy and delicious sack.
Check out our photos of our learning journey, we learn’t a lot about hygiene and cutting techniques whilst making our salads. We are very proud of our final products.
